Orange Coast Magazine, at its debut in 1974, was original named
Nieuport, a name thought by its original publishers to set the magazine
apart from other magazines. By the following year, the name was changed
to Newport, then later to Newport Life and Orange Country,
and then, in 1977, to Orange Coast.
