Lincoln Celebration - San Juan Capistrano (Mission San Juan Capistrano)
The Mission celebrates the birthday of President Abraham Lincoln with costumed actors and a historical exhibit. The day recalls the signing of documents by President Abraham Lincoln in 1865 deeding the Mission back to the people. Visitors the opportunity to view Lincoln-era memorabilia. This festival celebrates the arrival of spring and the first day of the lunar year.

Los Alamitos Annual 10K Run/5K Run - Los Alamitos

Tet New Year Celebration - Westminster (Little Saigon)
Little Saigon streets come alive with the celebration of Tet, the Vietnamese celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year. For the event, the community is festooned in the good luck colors of red and yellow.  Traditional items are available for the occasion. Information: (714) 898-3311

Return of the Swallows Festival - San Juan Capistrano (Mission)
The swallows are welcomed upon their annual return from their winter home in Argentina. This famous event is celebrated over three weeks with parades, a mercado, hoosegow day, and more.

Festival of Whales - Dana Point Harbor

Pet Expo - Costa Mesa (Orange County Fairgrounds)
The largest pet and pet product expo in the world where more than 1,000 animals entertain you in stage shows, competitions and demonstrations. The event involves dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, rodents, goats, pigs, llamas, alpaca, rabbits, miniature horses and other creatures. Also, pets are offered for adoption and for sale.  The event also features a petting zoo, how-to workshops and advice from animal experts. Please do not bring your pets.

Korean Festival - Garden Grove

UCI Annual Open House - Irvine (University of California Irvine Campus)

Laguna Beach Chamber Music Festival - Laguna Beach

This film festival offers more than 170 features, shorts, documentaries, and animated films, competing for series Jury Awards and Audience Awards. The festival also hosts several premiere galas, yacht parties, and Q&A sessions with filmmakers.

Floral Park Home & Garden Tour - Santa Ana
Showcasing many vintage homes from the 1920's-50's for public viewing. In addition, there will be lovely gardens to tour, culminating at The Courtyard of The Bowers Museum. The Newport Seafest - Newport Beach

Taste of Newport - Newport Beach (Fashion Island)

Sandcastle Contest - Corona Del Mar (Corona State Beach)
A popular tradition for many decades, the Sandcastle contest draws participants at all levels and experience to build sand creations on the beach including some incredible sculptures. Awards are given. Information: (949) 729-4400

Tall Ships Festival - Dana Point
Held at the Marine Institute, the event includes a Sea Chantey Concert, maritime exhibits and demonstrations, a Port Royal Privateers encampment, model boat building, wood carving, touch tank encounters, a rope challenge course, crafts and food. Information: (949) 496-2274

Doheny Days World Music & International Food Festival - Dana Point
This festive concert event close to the beach features top Reggae and world-beat musicians, art & craft vendors, environmental exhibits and sponsored displays, and an international food court. Information: (949) 360-7800

Civil War Re-enactment - Huntington Beach (Huntington Beach Central Park)

Festa Della Vendemmia - Irvine (Prego Ristorante, 18420 Von Karmen)
Benefiting the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation and hosted by Prego Ristorante in Irvine, this Italian cultural family event features a real vat of grapes for grape stomping festivities to celebrate the annual harvest. Older patrons may stand by tasting wine and foods while children get their faces painted and an opportunity to get their feet into the vat of grapes. Dana Point Turkey Trot - Dana Point
California's Largest Thanksgiving Day running event and one of the nation's most scenic runs. The run tours the beautiful beach, majestic cliffs and coves of Dana Point, as well the Dana Point Marina, Doheny State Park and the historic tall ship Pilgrim moored in Dana Point Harbor. Artists Village Open House - Santa Ana (Artists Village, Downtown Santa Ana)
First Saturday of month. Downtown Santa Ana comes alive with arts when galleries, theatres, artists and performers in the Artists Village host an open house for the public each month. As many as 1,500 individuals from throughout Los Angeles and Orange County visit the more than 150 participating studios and galleries in historic buildings in the heart of downtown Santa Ana. Art Walk - Laguna Beach
First Thursday of month. Galleries throughout Laguna Beach open each month for a festive cultural evening. Free shuttle service is provided from the Laguna Art Museum.

Newport Harbor Christmas Boat Parade - Newport Beach (Newport Harbor)
More than 200 boats cruise Newport Harbor decorated in dazzling holiday lights. This week-long boat parade, the largest and oldest of its kind in Southern California, lasts for about two-and-a-half hours. Information: (714) 729-4400

Tree-Lighting Ceremony - Orange
Since the 1920s, this two-day Christmas event offers a candlelight choir procession ending with a spectacular tree-lighting. Typical includes the lighting of the Menorah, a candlelight orchestra, a bell choir, and a lighting of the tree and speeches by city officials. Information: (714) 744-7272

Tree Lighting Ceremony - San Juan Capistrano (Historic Town Center Park & Mission San Juan Capistrano)
This annual event includes Christmas carols and a progression to the Mission for open house, entertainment and a nativity scene.

Great Inland Yacht Parade and Christmas Tree Lighting - Villa Park
